Gleðigangan that means literally The Parade of Happiness is the way the Gay Pride Parade is called in Iceland. This parade is held every year the second saturday of August. It is one of the biggest celebrations in Iceland (along with the 17th of June, which is the Independance Day, and Menningarnótt (A night of culture) that is held the 4th saturday of August) gathering a huge amount of people downtown in Reykjavík. This year it was estimated that 100,000 people took part of this party (imagine that!! Considering that the total population of Iceland is just a little bit over 300,000!!).
The weather was just PERFECT: blue sky, no wind (and I mean NO WIND AT ALL) and warm (YES! warm!).
The spirit was really amazing: families everywhere, lots of kids, lots of color and music. It is really a celebration of happiness and tolerance.

aqui en Paris es igual, es algo taalma, porque creo que si hy otra persona en este mundo a quien amo es a mi mejor amigo, el es albanes y frances, y lo mas chistoso, habla castellano con acento chileno , y se las sabe todas, cuadno podemos vamos a la gay pride, pero antes cuando era soltera no me la perdia
ReplyDeleteMis amigas Lesbianas tambien hacen parte de esta gran comunidad que muchas veces son excluidos, es muy triste ver como aun aqui se les excluye de la sociedad, creo que aun falta, y bastante, y de los paises nordicos debemos aprender mucho ..
las fotos son hermosas, llenas de color, y se que ese dia ellos son felices, porque cada dia cuenta.
La homosexualidad esta aun siendo un tema tabu, y he leido muchas veces que la gente prefiere suicidarse antes de confesarlo.
Aqui en Paris tenemos un barrio gay, "le marais" ohh me encanta jajaja, es tan alegre, y existe una fiesta travesti , que es la eleccion de la "Miss escualita" es una pasada, asistir porque se pelean por el podium como unas verdaderas comadres..
Tendre que escuchar al cantante mas tarde .. porque ahora me desperte de los dolores de espalafda y huesos , me dio una gripe de caballo ... y ando media vampirica estos dias, porque no puedo dormir..
bueno Feliz dia del orgullo Gay , lesbico, Trans, y todo lo demas, !!!!!!!!!!
